Overview
100% film roll scrap denotes rolls with agreed dominant polymer composition. LDPE film roll scrap is low-density polyethylene film waste. BOPP film scrap is oriented polypropylene film waste. LDPE–BOPP film scrap includes laminated or coextruded structures combining those layers.
Film thickness, width, and core type affect transport mass balance. Printed and adhesive-coated films introduce volatiles and filter load during extrusion.
Polymer processing differences
LDPE extrudes at lower temperatures than BOPP; mixed feeds require compatible temperature windows or separation. BOPP reclamation may need more aggressive degassing if orientation additives and antiblocks are present.
Typical equipment chain
- Shredder or granulator
- Forced-feed extruder with vent zones
- Melt filtration (screen packs or continuous filters)
